Hi guys, so I had an interview for McDonald's(I know I know). I'm 18 years old and I'm attending college and I need to make some money this semester since I'm only taking one class. So the interview went great and he said he wants to hire me but he has to figure out why my background check didn't clear. I remember reading a post about that a while ago. Does anyone know why this might've happened? I have no record by the way. I've never gotten in trouble.

It might be the company they use to run the background checks. There's a thread on here about the company LexisNexis and people seem to be having trouble being verified while they are searched for on that company.

So what should I do? I emailed them and asked what company they use and they just said to call them on Friday to see if I got the job or not. But I'm afraid the background check not clearing will mess everything up.

Nothing wrong with working at McDonald's, it is an honest job, so keep your head up. Good luck getting your stuff cleared!

My understanding from someone else that had the same issue not clearing the background check. it seemed the reason he did not clear the background check was because it raised a red flag noting that the SSN card was recently issued and did not match the date of his birthdate.

A minor issue, but none-the-less one that led to him failing the background check. He talked with the person that he was interviewing and demonstrated that he had a valid work authorization, the SSN was his.

So yeah.... just a heads up.
