At least in my field internships require you to be currently in school, and I graduated. This is a good way to gain experience though.

It is one of the most common majors, period.

Yeah but the problem with Business major is you need a shit load of experience to land on a good job and you can sometimes only get that from internships but sometimes companies don't offer them to people not authorized here. At least that was my experience with my friends who went after business majors.

I suggest you guys look into obtaining a GIS certificate (Geographic Information Systems) and enjoy watching your offers role in. Here in Oregon at least, a friend of mine got his from a CC and is making about 52K . He travels a lot too.

Its not as simple as that. The fields are as follows: Finance, Marketing, Accounting, IT, Management, Entrepreneurship etc. These are very specialized fields that lead to various certifications. But yes, overall, your degree will most likely be a BBA or BS in one of these majors.

Yes, this is the truth. Engineering and Science will always have the upper hand when it comes to job availability. Recently my sister got her EMT license. When she goes to apply for a job, she pretty much is guaranteed a position. There's more jobs than candidates available in this field. This is just an example. Keep in mind though if your major puts you on a path towards a specific certification, you will be at an advantage. CPA and CFA are examples. I definitely recommend majors like Finance and Accounting with minors in others if interested.

I can't speak for all fields within the business realm, but finance is very, very competitive. You either need to be an MBA grad from a top 20 or you need to specialize in something and be awesome at it. I would suggest corporate valuation, financial modeling or risk modeling.

For paid internships, they definitely require you to be a student. However, if you talk to them and tell them that you are willing to volunteer in order to get experience, they may be willing to be more lenient. I graduated back in 2011, and it worked for me. What was your major? When did you graduate?

This is why you shouldn't study business.

Sure, you can be very successful, but if you study an engineering field your almost guaranteed a very good salary after five years. Plus, you don't look for a job. They look for you.

I mean why wouldn't someone want to study math and science.. ?
