Yes the Dream Act is in the compromise, that hopefully the Senate will pass in a couple of days. Why you ask? Because is the right thing to do.

A more specific answer to why would be becuase Senators Durbin, Kennedy, and McCain among others made sure to include DREAM Act in the Judiciarry Committee immigration reform bill, back in January (or was it December? Time trully flies...)

And we have. :P

Anyway, for specific proof that DREAM Act is in fact included, see http://thomas.loc.gov (Library of Congress) search for bill number S.2611 (Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006) and look at Chapter 3 - Subtitle C (DREAM Act) of the text. Im sorry I cant provide a direct link, the link wouldnt work the way that website works, but you can deffinitely find it, its there.

dont worry Romeo, im pretty sure that DREAM is in there. The thing that really worries me its that maybe, and just maybe the Senators will be willing to sacrifice DREAM when the debate with the house beggins. I havent read anything that says this could happen nor i have any inside information, but it was something that crossed my mind the other day and thats all.

please dont panic!! we will have to wait and see

and if you do panic, girls, you can come to me, ill protect you

Sen Durbin(who I will name my first child after) included DREAM in the Mcain- Kennedy Bill it I saw this happen on C-SPAN.COM. Now the compromise(Hagel-Martinez Bill) which is being debated right now, took the Kennedy Bill and split all 12 million people in 3 groups, that is pretty much the only MAJOR change. DREAM was not changed at all.

Second... Hagel is co-sponsor of DREAM with Durbin, so don't you think that he would include DREAM even if Durbin did not included? Trust us DREAM is in the Senate, hopefully it comes out of the house- senate compromise, which should begin in a couple of weeks. Pray my friends Pray that we could celebrate New Years with Dream.

Thats the thing that bill DID NOT get killed. Martinez compromise introduced some changes, but the majority of the underlying bill is still there.
