White house apparently has threatened to veto the bill if the final version out of the senate-house conference doesn't strip off the restriction on the u-visa AOS, LGBT provisions and the tribal land isssue. Republicans never cease to amaze. It's beyond me how some folks can be so mean to other people who are less fortunate than them.

The next stop would depend on your application.

USCIS could issue a 'Request for More evidence' if they believe that the information given originally was not enough that was associated with your original I-918 OR Approval of your application could be the next thing. If you're approved you shall be given a Work permit valid for 4 years.

I sent my application being here in the US and I'll wait for the approval letter back in my country. My attorney
Said it'd be a longer wait but still could get the same results. I just don't know if anyone has applied from outside the US so they could tell me what processed they followed when applying for the U visa.

Is there a time frame to file for U visa? Like does it have to be within how many years bfore you can apply? I was a victim of date rape when i was a teenager and U visa was not introduced back then. Am i still qualified to file? It happened in 2004.

It also states me to apply for temporary employment authorization if I have any economic necessity. Can you please tell me how long it will take to receive this? I
