I dont know if all schools do this but the school Im going to is going to issue me an I20. Im not really sure what it is. I know its for students on student visas but can they even issue me one . I was approved in 1/13 for DACA. I told them I do have an A#. any input on this would be great!

Well they're morons, since you can't receive an I-20 since you're not on F-1, F-2, M-1, M-2, J-1, or J-2 visa.

yeah the problem lies with what DACA means, which is really, deferred from being deported for 2 years with the ability to work and reside lawfully until these 2 years are up, and this isn't really a status is more like a condition. Is why a lot of people are having a hard time understanding, but something schools have updated their applications for other and you can just put in DACA

one can not be given a student visa WHILE in the US. they would have to be in their home country, apply, show they have been accepted to a US school, then have the visa approved.

i would speck to an admissions officer and have an actual sit down appointment and explain, that you have graduated from a US high school and that you have legal presence and thus can not be given a student visa.

OP is getting royally screwed

If they are issuing him I20, then it means he'll be on F1 visa. So his status will be updated to on student visa. But he's on DACA. Now CIR is approaching, nobody will know if he has status or his DACA would still be valid.

Major mess.
