So I finally got my EAD in the mail today; however, I didn't receive a I-766. Is that the card it self? I was planning on going to the social security office tomorrow, but I don't want to go unless I know that I'll be able to successfully request my SSN. Please, let me know if you guys had to show that form or if the EAD card was sufficient.

Thanks guys.

the I-766 is the EAD card itself. i would also take any letter that came with the EAD, the approval letter for the I-821D.

this link provides a list of documents that you can take with you to the SSA office.

If you flip the EAD over, in the lower right-hand corner of the blue part it says "FORM I-766 Rev.(12-2010)"

The EAD is the I-766. Also remember to bring a second ID with you to the Social Security office.

If you have both a birth certificate and a passport, take them both with you. The instructions may say something, but every SSA office behaves differently.
