My sister has my same timeline and she is still waiting, but my lil brother who applied weeks after us just got his work permit. I was telling her I wondering if its taking so long because she had a work permit before

i used to have one too....I thought it was gonna make things EASIER not harder

did you get your social yet?

I had a work permit also and I am now sure that this put us all in another reveiw pile.

Got my New York State ID (learners permit) in mail. Let the fun begin.

I wrote my congressman and they said I have to send them a "Privacy Act Release form"...did that happen to anyone?

I had to sign/print a form from my congressman's website that gave them the right to inquire with USCIS. They quoted this on their site "The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that members of Congress have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case".

So what they are asking from you is totally normal, and you have to sign off a form so that they can inquire with USCIS.

"On April 17, 2013, your name was updated relating to your I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance"

almost!!!! ...7 months and 3 days wait so far!!

tomorrow makes 2 weeks and still no social in the mail
