i thought dreamers were people who were came here as kids, went to school here and basically grew up as americans
That's only part of it. The other part was in order for them to get a green card, they had to show that they were going to be a big part of the country and make it proud by finishing college or going to the military. No free lunch.

Well said. In before those people come in claiming that you don't need a college education to make it in this world like Bill Gates. How many Bill Gates do you know? Just one. Anyone can be a dreamer, but a D.R.E.A.Mer = College education or Military career. End of story.

DREAM Act stands for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors

If someone thinks only HS diploma is education enough, then is he not even worth bothering with.

The rest of CIR would apply to the ditch diggers and dental technologists....again, if it's using the rules from the original Dream Act.

If the purpose of CIR is to legalize everybody, there would be no reason to have a dream act bill. Just like there was no education requirements for Daca, I don't see a reason for it to apply in this CIR bill. There is a reason thst the DREAM Act hasn't been mentioned. They do mention childhood arrivals though (aka DACA recipients). Just my thoughts though.

Good question. According to the dream act a person can graduate from an institute of higher education. That includes two year vocational/trade/career schools. You'll just have to make sure they're accredited.

In my opinion, you guys shouldn't have to be required to "prove" yourselves in order to be able to stay here! You were brought here through no fault of your own. I'm not sure why you guys are belittling each other just because some see college or military as a "dream" and others do not. To me, the education/military requirements were just a way to try and get conservative support . . . to somehow convince them that "well, if they earn the legal status somehow, then it's okay to forgive them".

But forgive you for what?! I say that the predicament that you all find yourselves in is not your fault! So why should you have to prove anything??

It just kinda of bugs me that you guys are fighting amongst yourselves when you all should be sticking together.

I am an American Citizen by birth, by the way. What did I do to earn that??
