hey everyone, I think what you guys are doing here is great. I wish I was motivated to participate in this sooner instead of sitting on the sidelines. The DREAM act or whatever amendment it will be transformed into, as long as it passes through, would definitely alter my life but more importantly my family's in a positive direction. Reading all the stories of the new ppl is encouraging to see that I'm not in this alone.

and the states that do give instate tuition to those that qualify (have that state's high school diploma and have been living there for three or more continuous years) are:

California
Texas
New York

those are the ones I know of, but im sure there are more. I think that Colorado its also on that list, but im not 100% sure.

hey the same thing happened to me at college. I was deregistered because of "financial obligations" because my parents couldnt afford to pay the horrendous out of state tuition fees. I wrote a letter to the Dean saying I went to High School in the state and provided him with my HS transcript and I receieved a letter back saying I was approved for in state tuition. So I got to go back to college and for the rst of the 3 yrs there I paid in state tuition. I just graduated and dont know what to do with my life =(
But I suggest writing to the Dean...dont even mention anything about not being here legally. Just say u went to HS there and send em the transcripts, maybe I was lucky I dont know, but theres no harm in trying
