All jokes aside, it is highly recommended that you sign up.

I'm sure you're automatically signed up for SSS if you don't sign up yourself. I think I was when I applied for my license.

I think you are either naive or a brilliant comedian. First of all, very few religious groups in America have been able to dodge military service for being pacifists. The official term is "conscientious objection" and it has only applied to small groups like the Quakers and the Amish. To give you an idea of how small they are, the Quakers in America have less than 90,000 members at present.

Catholics are the largest religious group in America, so if you could use membership in it as an excuse to dodge the draft then there wouldn't be enough soldiers to fight! Even Mormons, who are arguably less truculent, cannot use membership in their church to be classified as conscientious objectors.

Finally, have you no sense of history? Where do I start? The Crusades, witch burning, the Inquisition, la Reconquista, the conquest of the Americas and the slave trade and the countless wars of conquest, succession, empire building and influence.

The Catholic church is like the McDonald's of the church industry and your claim is akin to saying," I cannot eat at a steakhouse because I eat at McDonald's."
