Hello everyone
Well I got my Work Authorization Card and now I am wondering if anyone has enrolled in colleges like "Institute of technology" or similar ones to get a career. My questions is if I could get some help with my card to pay for my career. I am thinking of getting a career as a computer engineer and well it is very expensive so if anyone has done something similar please let me know and give me some advices..Thank you

I've actually been wondering about this too! I've recently received my EAD and have applied for my SS, so now I'm waiting for that. I'm studying in a technical college, Interactive College of Technology to be specific, currently studying Business Management.
To be clear, I've been studying in this school before I received my EAD and have been paying a lot of money each month to be able to stay in the school seeing as I have to pay as a foreign student. When I was in the process of applying for my card, I talked to one of the administrators in the school I'm now in, and she had told me that with a social security card I'd be able to pay much less and I'd even be able to get the money I paid, back.

Now that I've received my card and applied for my SS, I went back to that same administrator to tell her I was almost done with the process but she had told me that she couldn't do anything until I had my SS, which I had already known and understood. She took me with one of the financial people in the school and it was then that she told me that I wouldn't be able to pay less with just a SS after all, I'd need a green card for that.
I was really upset about that, because she had originally told me something different and I ended up more stressed out because now it turns out that I need to apply for something else?!

I'm not sure where to go from here and I'm wondering if the next step really is a green card or whether the administrator was just informed incorrectly?

No you cannot help with your card since DACA doesn't not offer any federal benefits, most banks won't lend you a loan unless you have a cosigner who is a PR or USC.

Being DACA approve just because you deferred from being deported for 2 years (or 4 if you apply and if its still there) and you get the ability to work lawfully. This is it.

With that being said, I suggest you do 2 years in cc and 2 years in a university or tech school. Go to a CC and look at their engineering transferring programs and see which schools why have some dual enrollment program with.

Yea these technical schools can be very sketchy and expensive. Id also recommend you do your AA at a CC, then look into a transferring program for your career goals.

ITT tech has a wiki page and as far as I've heard from people I know that have gone there, it's a scam.

I'm not really sure whether having a wiki page makes a difference or not, but thank you for that suggestion.

yeah if its not a state founded tech school, you shouldn't consider a for profit tech school it will always be more expensive

What Piano said, plus there is a lot of debate out there as to whether an education from those places is actually worth anything. There was an investigation on one a while ago where they found out that some institution was completely lying about their post graduation employment statistics. You're better off going to cc and maybe transferring to a 4 year university afterward.
