I know this is going to sound too personal but have you ever battled depression?

I've been battling with mine for years now and sometimes I just get ideas in my head where i feel like taking my own life and doing something drastic to show the goverment that they need to do something about immigration and stop playing with the undocumented people's lives. maybe that will push the envelope and they will stop fucking around.

We all get down but personally never to that point, life has been amazing ever since my approval, stay strong and hang in there man, we will get our dream and we'll become legal, it just takes a little. Are you DACA approved?

We all suffer from depression on here...some more than others. Trust me though, taking your own life would mean they won. They won't care and many in fact will celebrate it because it's one less illegal to deal with. Even on here among supporters, people become forgotten. That one kid who took his own life last year- Juaquin something or rather - we were sad when it happened, but basically few people will remember him. The saddest part there was DACA was announced a few months later.

Now we're potentially only months away from very good news.

Hang in there. I'm going through something similar but I'm keeping myself strong and motivated. It was my own mistake and my own fault that's preventing me from DACA approval but you have to be strong. Crying helps. Screaming helps get that frustrated feeling out of you.

Dysthymia for about 13 years. I didn't even give a crap about getting approved for DACA. The part that sucks the most is having to force myself to socialize to maintain friendships/relationships and pretending I am happy. It's mentally and physically exhausting. Exercise helps, but it doesn't get rid of the pessimistic outlook.

For those interested in joining the military when/if CIR passes, NEVER disclose your mental health issues to recruiters. They will find out about the stuff that has been logged somewhere, but don't even hint to having problems. Depression and anxiety related disorders are instant disqualifiers. This is terrible advice because in the end these precautions are taken to prevent potential adverse situations for you and the people you interact with, but I know there are DREAMers in here planning on joining the military to become LPRs.

I don't really know if I'm depress or not I try not to get to overwhelm with things, I'm going to school but most of the time it just makes me feel so bad that I can't take too many classes. I'm very conscious about my status which makes it really hard for me to get close to people and I think that's what makes it so hard on me to do anything when I know I'm alone. Hoping for a better tomorrow.

You are right. I think that the toughest is to make yourself think you are happy and keeping up with everyone else. It sucks
