Is the criminal history check only internal for the US or will they also request background checks from the country of origin?
I was falsely accused and sentenced for fraud I did not commit (even though my co worker did it). I haven´t done anything wrong here in the US yet.
Sorry, if the question was asked before. I couldn´t find it.

PS:
Sorry, just noticed it´s in the wrong section. Please move it to the right one.

Good question, I don't think so though.

I did hear on the news that persons applying must not have committed crimes in their home countries but I believe they're just going to care or will be able to find out only about major crimes.

I hope you´re both right.
I came here on a Visa Waiver and overstayed and if it was a major crime (which it is definitely not) the FBI would´ve been here already to send me back home. I mean they could easily find out where I live through my bank account addresses and such things.

Probably just Canada since they share information together but if you are not from Canada, I wouldn't worried unless your some wanted drug cartel member or something.

However, I did read here somewhere a long time ago, these background checks were done internationally. Whether this is true or not I don't know.

Can you explain this further more?

you were accused, then charged, then sentenced, I suggest you contact a lawyer if you haven't and ask for his/hers opinion on this. I think you might be the first here with this in your name
