so in 2002 there was a law where everyone from middle-eastern countries had to go register with the INS, does anyone know if dream still helps those that didn't goto register? like if they qualify with respect to everything else, except they didn't register. hope everyones having a good day =)

never heard about this law.. you sure it was everyone? because that would almost seem unconstitutional...

sorry, yeah it wasn't everyone it was every male above the age of 16 who was born in middle-eastern countries who weren't green card holders or citizens of the US (it included some non-middle eastern countries like pakistan too). So even if you had a valid visa you had to go register. this is a link to it http://www.ice.gov/pi/specialregistration/archive.htm

I remember reading something like this but it seems they were even picking up American Citizens that were of Muslim-descent,in the New York area especially.I am not sure anyone here can give an answer on this at this time since there hasn't been any information on the Dream act for 2007,even though we expect it to have the same language in the legislation as last years'.I would guess that you could probably have it waived under Dream act,but with security-related grounds like this it would be hard to say.I think the best advice I can give at this time is that you hire a lawyer to take care of the paper-work if Dream act passes.
