That won't work, it'll take too long. Courts take long enough already.

On other news, the word "shit" is okay to say on television. The word "republican" has been added to the curse words list.

I think in the end Dreamers will more than likely be applying for their immediate relatives.
Under both plans it seems likely to function either as a special status for the undocumented or simply an unrestricted non-immigrant visa, both will more than likely have unrestricted travel authorization but considering the Permanent residency pathways I don't think many individuals will get there considering some of the requirements.I like the compromise idea still.

After reading about the House plan it doesn't seem to have a 'cut-off' date like the Senate bill making it apply to all undocumented.
Perhaps someone who has a good understand of the laws can explain to me. Is the "probation" status pretty much give all of us a permanent criminal record? Such as having to disclose it on a job application. That would bar us from pursuing many jobs.

So aside from the torture we have had for so long, they want to scar us for life before freeing us. Why don't they tattoo a number on my forearm too?

There was like 350 thousand case backlog before immigration judges in 2009, it's probably more with Obama being so deportation happy, I wonder how do they plan of pushing 11 million people through the court system. Unless we establish 5 minute courts - run, in judge waves a finger at you, puts you on probation, and you run out.

... and besides what if I decide to be a dick and cite Plyler v. Doe ruling which says that by being brought into US illegally I committed no crime, can I be sentenced to probation? Probably not since I committed no crime, and if I can't then what?

Republican logic at work, again.

It seems the jest of what the article mentions is that an individual pleas guilty in Federal Court, not necessarily immigration court. There isn't any explicit detail on if the charge and eventual plea would 'prohibit' an individual from any opportunity or benefit.

The ironic thing is those who apply for Naturalization have the proceeding done by a Federal judge as well.I can just imagine seeing a mass. of undocumented saying "GUILTY" when the judge has been announced and precides, lol

DA User would deport his sister, his cousin and his mom to have a safe status in this country

Yep.. Years.. and years of wait..

And besides, I think That you can't become a citizen if you are convicted of a Federal Offense/Crime.. And since this would be handle by Federal Jude (according to article of OP), accepting the probation as a sentence is accepting a federal offense. But wait, why am I writing about what it could be?
I hope they release their bill soon.. So all this speculation does not continue to increase.
