Check my timeline guys! As soon as i was approved i wanted to buy a new car. Well guess what? Most banks out there don not take a work permit. Specifically ours because is only a 2 year work permit. The best way to go is with a credit union. Thanks to cynmed07 for hooking me up with a credit union is Houston Texas. Their interest rate are great! 4.99% with not a lot of credit history. I'm also working on getting my house refinance with them. Im currently paying 9% on the house with a bogus bank. Once again please don't waste your time with banks. I hope i help somebody.

Well this is not just to open a bank account this is to get a loan, they want to know what type of visa or permit you are on. Thats the reason.

use your State ID or DL for identification, not your work permit. Anyways, they are more concerned about your credit or your co-signer's credit.

If you have credit under your ITIN, dont forget to transfer it to your new SSN

Agree with OP. I got hooked up with a 4.9% 3 year loan at my local credit union for a 2004 car. That's the lowest rate they offer for a car this old. Also, why would you want to give your business to these deadbeat unethical banks that take away homes from Army veterans?

Look at what you saying, just to put my self and my post down. "Use your state ID or DL" Well there is a problem. The DL clearly says "Limited Term" thats exactly what triggers banks to ask whether you are a resident or why type of visa you on. I'm not asking for suggestions on what to do. I was just telling my side of the story and what i have been through.
