What happens if you work under the table (receive cash instead of check because you have no SS#) before DACA. Then after DACA gets approved and receive your SS# you still work under the table for the same job. If I put the job where I receive cash from on my resume, will future employers know?

Not sure of what happens but if I were you I'd get another job to start keeping up with taxes and stuff, remember they all think we don't pay taxes already.

Yeah I think you better get a new job as later on it may come back and bite you in the ass.

It is still legal to get paid cash as long as you claim the income on your tax form, and the taxes will be taken out then.

If you're getting paid cash just ask your current employer to pay you in check

As far as the IRS is concerned all you need to do is pay taxes on your income. Also keep in mind that one of the CIR requirements (so far) is that we all must pay back taxes.

As far as future employers are concerned. You have a valid SSN and EAD. Doesnt matter if you put your "under the table" job on your resume. Besides, I've never been asked in an interview if my previous job paid me in cash or check.

When I was interviewing for my current job, they asked me to provide my W-2s (which got a pretty big WTF from most everyone I told), but I told them I was paid in cash and they didn't ask anymore. Still got hired.

I have two guesses as to why they did that. One, they are too lazy to do a background check. Two, they wanted to know your previous salary information to possibly low-ball you. I've read of people that get requested their last pay stub from their previous place of employment. Did they tell you why they needed it?
