So reading up on all the postings (big applause to Ianus, your the man, why don't you run for office when legal), one question I have in mind is what happens after CIR does get passed and signed into Federal law?
If we assume for the moment that CIR will be passed Sept.-Dec. of 2007, where do we go and what do we do after that to begin the process of legalization?
I know it might be too early but I just wanted to get an idea of what post-CIR will look like for us.
I ask cuz I'm guessing there will be a flood of undocumented immigrants trying to become legalized once the opportunity arises. I don't think that any of us want to be stuck at the end of the line cuz we never considered the practicals of getting legalized after CIR.
To be honest with you if cir is the only thing to pass it will probobly take a long time to get through the application process.
If the current system is any indication, years. But maybe they would issue ss numbers fairly quickly, like in say under a month. Going to a wayer to get the applications done would probobly be a good idea, but then again you probobly wouldn't have to.
Best case scenario DREAM passes alone.
Yes, the best case scenario is just Dream passing because it would only apply to students who meet a strict criteria. Thus, there is less paperwork for the Government to deal with.
The other scenario is some full immigration plan which includes everybody else.
Either way, start saving for the lawyer and application fees.
