I just went to Valencia today (Osceola Campus) in Florida & I was turning in the things to show them I'm a resident & that went fine but at the end she tells me that recently (April 30th) a law passed that Deferred Action people can't get in-state tuition anymore. Is this true? Or is it just Osceola that says this because I hadn't heard/read anything about this. If it is true, are the going to fight against this law or what? Please help, thanks.

It's true. But places like FIU have a waiver for DACA beneficiaries. Show them this, and see what they say.

Ughhhhhhh, this SUCKS! Are we trying to fight back against this? I read here ( http://bigstory.ap.org/article/state...igration-bills ) that apparently Florida is trying to fight back but Senate is holding it up? I think I'm gonna try the Lake Nona Campus & see what they have to say, maybe I can still sneak in? What about the people that enrolled before this new In-State Tuition act thing? Do they still get to pay in-state or what? Because if they do, that's BS. Thanks for answering banbenbin

I know how you feel..when she told me that at the very end it just ruined my mood. Let me know how it goes for you. Make sure to take your EAD & the letters you got in the mail after your approval & your Valencia ID number.

Oh man this is horrible news!!
And where is this "law"?
I signed up in the osceola campus and got instate tuition (prior to 4/30 though)
I didnt mention DACA at all, I just said my status is deferred, and handed in my residency papers with the tiers and whatnot.
listen, in the answer center ive talked to this one big black guy who was really nice but was referring me to the INTERNATIONAL people....he said daca people did not qualify for instate. Ive heard some nice lady said the same thing too.
However! I went back and i spoke to this white guy (brunette, young) and he didnt aske me any questions! I just said my immi status was deferred and he said oh ok, and went on to photocopy my stuff and submit them.....try again! I havent seen this law, just show them where it says deferred status are granted instate too!
