okay, so I'm a little nervous because I don't know what to expect once I go to the BMV............... I think I'm ready for the written test, but I just feel a little scared.

I'm not from Ohio, I live in FL but I just did my test this week. I'm guessing it has to be more or less the same across the states so I'll tell you my experience.

I only went in to get my learner's permit not the license since I need to practice my driving. Make sure you read your state's DMV book and take some practice tests online. Some of the websites I used to practice were:

http://www.permittestpractice.com/

http://driversprep.com/index.php?selectstate

Also, check out your state's DMV website and make sure you take all the required documents that way you are not turned away. 3 different people checked through all my paperwork before I even paid for my learner's. As soon as I walked in the door they made sure I had everything I needed so be prepared.

The sight test here is done with a machine that is at every desk station. You put your face in it and push it down with your forehead, it turns on the lines of letters you have to read and they ask you to read a line. Over here it was line 5 which is the minimum you need. If you use glasses make sure you take them and use them.

Then I was sent to take the test on a computer. It was a touch screen and here you need to get 15 out of 20 correct. If you make it to 15 with no mistakes your test stops. So it's 15 for road rules and 15 for road signs. The questions can seem tricky so make sure you read it carefully and read all of your options. But really if you studied and read the book you won't have a problem.

Just relax and take your time. I'm taking driving lessons and should be taking the driving test soon. Here there are a few driving instructors outside of the DMV offering their services. They can either give you classes or prepare you for the actual test if you want some practice. Check that out too, maybe there will be some at your DMV and you can find out about classes or a practice driving test.

Best of luck to you!

I'll share my experience in case anyone is looking for more info like I was:

I was so scared and nervous, because I didnt know if they were going to ask me way too many questions and all that... plus Ive heard of people getting denied the first try. So I was scared!

I went in there waited until they called me and went... showed my ss and work permit
plus a bank account statement... then went to take the test
I waited again....and waited... until they called me again, ask me a few questions,
paid 22$ and took the pic.

to make it short, i got there and it took around 3 hrs total to get my permit.
I need to practice my driving so I hope in a couple of weeks I get my drivers
but now.........I'm Happy
