So I'm just stuck waiting and waiting and waiting....
The background check is done by the FBI right? Is there a way to call and push for our case to be looked at?

Maybe you have very common names or birth dates. I do background checks for employees and sometimes they have common names and are associated with other people with lots of criminal records. Then again, the DOB should give it away that it's not them.

Just got off the phone with a lvl 2 officer, who was kind of rude, but I can tell he's just tired of hearing the same stuff over and over again. He explained the reason why we can't talk to the reviewing officers because then they wouldn't be able to get anything done. The security check is up to USCIS reviewing process, so basically it's not the FBI but the reviewing officer who has not proceeded with my case to a approval or denial.

This is getting ridiculous... I know I have to wait but it's crazy to know some people got approved 2 months after they received their apps. I have waited 4 times longer than some and 33% over their "time frame". I truly think it's only fair for USCIS to work on cases on first come first serve basis. If the background check has not cleared then it's understandable to wait for the third party agency to finish their investigations, but if it's internal then there is no excuse to send it to the back of the line.

justanotherdreamer, did you have any previous case? it maybe one of reasons why its taking so long. they had a huge amount of transfer around march and i did see alotta approvals from april. its just kinda strange because this month they suddenly slowed down again.

idk if theyre looking too hard into your case or probably too busy with other immigration cases

How long does it take to receive another update on a case once u received a name update???

Thats usually a glitch that the system has. I had a name updated and didnt get anything till months later but you may be one of the lucky few. Keep the hope alive
