Yes! When they look at us they should see nothing but dollar signs! I mean we are keeping social security afloat that should be enough to make them like us!! People are so misinformed I wish I could sit with each and every one of those people that said stuff like "yeah they come in this country and get everything for free" and have a talk over my moms famous tamales and michelada lol (well I wouldn't drink it i'm pregnant, but you get it lol)

I wonder if anti-immigration people really think about all they say...I find that the whole 'not paying taxes' argument is the weakest of all. Seriously, EVERYBODY pays taxes and everybody that works (legal or not as long as they put in a SSN) pays payroll taxes, most of the times without getting anything in return. Property taxes are paid either by the homeowner (like myself) or by the guy who rents an apartment (part of the rent goes to taxes) and these taxes pay for, guess what, education. Finally, sales taxes; besides some internet purchases, everybody pays taxes! Yes, some people (mostly Mexicans) can get those taxes returned, but most don't (and we don't).

So, how can somebody keep on saying 'illegals don't pay taxes'?!?

The only problem is health care...then again, how do you expect even 'legals' to pay for health care when it is a business more than a human right?

I think I'm going to start p90x to keep me from checking my status daily. Hopefully I get good news before I finish the program.

TexanJose your good news(approval) will come soon. And by the way I didn't have the best of luck at the SSA. I went 5-20-13, called today 5-29-13 and USCIS still hasn't verified me, apparently the have my middle name on their system twice so it has to be corrected. I just don't understand how my EAD is correct and their system isn't. So it could be a month before it gets corrected.
