I was approved on may 21. I got the card on sat. may 25. My second last name is Gonzalez, but they typed it as "Gonzales" I did not notice this until I went to apply for my SSN. As I was walking out of the SS office, reading the receipt, I noticed that there was an "S" at the end. At first I thought that the guy had made a typing error and I went back to see if he could correct it. He then told me that he went by the name on the EAD card and there it was, that "S" at the end. He did told me I should get it fixed but Is the second last name really that important? I mean, do I even need it for a Driver's Licence? I already have a job, I'm just interested in the DL issue.

i think the DMV will go by what is on your EAD and depending on what state you live in the SSN card too. so its spelled wrong then it will show up that way on your DL too.

also, it depends on how much you use the second last name. if your ban k accts, etc dont have your 2nd last name on them then i dont think it would matter much.

i havent been approved yet but i had the same problem with my 1st last name. USCIS said they corrected it but we'll if that the story when i get my EAD.

Everything will go off of what is on your EAD.

SSN
ID - Credit Cards, bank account, will go off of your ID.
DL
e-verify background check.

SSA wont change it until you get the new EAD with your name spelled correctly.

My middle name is missing all they put was the
initial and that's how my driving permit is
But my social has the whole thing written on it
Ur drivers license will show what's on ur card
But u can always return ur card so they can fix it
And then go back to the DMV and get it change on ur
License as well. If u really need ur license go ahead and
Get it then send ur card back to uscis

It's not missing. They only put the initial of your middle name.
