I tried using the USCIS self check tool with my SSN and it displays no information. Its also not possible to check my credit score using websites that should allow me to see my score. Why is this happening? Is there someplace I have to call to verify my ssn? I've had it for 2 or 3 months now.

Dude, you just got your Social Security # on april 1st, it takes at least 6 months for anything to show up on your credit file. Patience.

Shouldnt it show up on the self check website though? How are employers supposed to check my SSN?

It took me 6months for the uscis self check site to generate identity verification questions. Also, you need around 6months of credit history before they generate a score for you. I have 4years of credit history and I still can't see my FICO score because the ssn is new.

This had been answered many many times, its the same reason why people have trouble with credit cards, you only have to click the links on the credit cards threads (I know two that's constantly pushed to the front page) and you'll know all about it.

The US government is inefficient, I believe we can all agree on that. It does not update regularly, but that is besides the point, there are three non-government credit check agencies that banks, and companies used to check on you. THREE. Their system are also not regularly updated, it would take half to a full year for you to show up. This is NOT abnormal.

However, some forum members recommend you to contact one of the three agencies, and send them your information and they'll update you manually. Which three agencies? I can't recall by memory, but again, this question have been answered many times, if you look around the site, you will find them.

Selfcheck needs to verify that you are who you claim to be. For that they use a standard quiz generated from your credit history - since you don't have any - they can't generate one and can't proceed.

In regards to how employers do it (with e-verify) they put in your information (name, A#, SSN, etc) and it either comes up as yes this person is authorized to work, or no.
