BTW, I do have about 6 years of retail experience (but that was pre DACA days), which is why I believe I was able to score some of these interviews.
How did the interview at Whole Foods go?

I know most of us might not have our dream job (very few do), but that doesn't mean we have to suck at our jobs. That's why those low-paying jobs have horrible service.

I'm a front-end engineer for a tech company.

I'm not super religious but I feel blessed. Went from making 0 a year to almost 80k a year.
The tech field is booming right now, I'm still getting 10 calls a day from tech recruiters.

If you have Internet and you're reading these words realize that you have all the tools needed to get into the tech field at your finger tips.

Don't want to mention the company since its relatively small; only about 100 employees. I do heavy JavaScript coding and build user interfaces using html5 and css3.

That's great. I'm glad Dreamers are getting into the tech careers. If you don't mind me asking, what degree/field of study did you take?

I'm starting college this fall and I'm thinking about getting into electrical engineering.

Electrical engineering is a great field to get into. I never got a degree (due to the expense). Google thought me everything I needed to know about front end engineering / web development.

The beautiful thing about web development is that it is easy to show what you can do and your level of experience by simply pointing to web sites you have built for money or for fun either way you're building a portfolio.
