I've been filing service requests since February. The response I received was basically the same response you've gotten & I'm sure it's the same for everyone else that's filed one. You may be approved soon but nobody can really tell you what's going to happen so just prepared for a wait

Reading everyone's experience here, it's almost like USCIS doesn't even know where your application is, or who has it, so they just tell you to keep waiting & something will eventually happen. Such efficiency! (not)

Seriously!! I really feel that my luck is so bad that my case is lost in the system and went into a black hole.

Nope, I'm still waiting.
No RFE, no notice for intent to deny, absolutely nothing.

This.

I filed within a short time of DACA being allocated. With the idea that it'd be a first come-first serve basis; I gathered all the prerequisite documents & evidence I possessed as soon as I could. I organized everything to the best of my ability & also in chronological order, then quickly had my packet overnighted. Although I've had a previous case with USCIS(which was denied & dismissed over a year before DACA existed) & I also have an absolutely clean criminal background/immigration background as well.. I thought the process, at least for me, would be straight-forward & squared off in a timely manner(even if they requested an RFE).

Needless to say I was dead wrong lol.

Efficiency is a term that the USCIS shouldn't even remotely begin to think about using to describe their services.. or even correlate themselves with in any way, shape, or form.

I'm not sure if you were referring to me.. If so, no, I haven't been approved yet. Two weeks ago I received a text/email about my application being transferred to a 'local office', whatever that means. My stuff originally went to everyone's favorite service center: Vermont. lol

My brother did get his application approved fairly quickly, but his went to Nebraska SVC and was never transferred.

It's hard to think of any other agency, public or private, whose processing times for a majority of its services are as long as those of USCIS. I mean entire decades to 'process' some applications?

Remember that in those cases is because of Visa availability. However, I do think if USCIS was better staffed, they could do a lot better. I'm sure if we were asked to pay more for a faster service we could, after all, it's about the money.

Right, I know Visa availability plays a role, but the processing itself of some applications also takes that long. I know because my family and I have a pending I-130, which we filed in '02, and was approved in '10. But we can't do anything yet because of our Visa priority date hasn't been reached for our category. (among other issues..)
