Does anyone here know if the SSA Office will accept just an EAD and I-821D along with a valid (non-expired) US driver license to get a social (SSN) for the first time?

I know the ideal documents to bring are a passport or birth certificate, but let's just assume here they're not available to the person at the time they're ready to get an SSN.

So, is this possible?

According to this document released by the Social Security Administration regarding DACA beneficiaries applying for Social Security Numbers, yes. The SSA will accept an EAD and a US Driver's License from a DACA beneficiary.

They only asked me for my EAD. I didn't even have to fill out the paper.

Ah, I thought they might have some specific guidelines about deferred action, but I didn't find them after a quick look at their website. This is exactly what I needed,

Thank you!

They need to make a sticky thread that says 'READ THIS AFTER YOU ARE APPROVED (DL AND SSN INFO)'.
