Mexican passport how to get one

How do I get a Mexican passport at the Mexican consular? I need a 6 year passport what documents do I need and how much does it cost for the 6 year passport? I live in Houston Texas

It's a pain in the butt to get one. Call the Mexican Council first to schedule an appointment. They will tell you everything you need, make copies and bring originals. Make sure you copy your appointment number to get inside the council. If you don't have a consular ID they will make you get one as well as a passport. It's like 126 bucks or something to get both. OH and bring 2 passport photos and a black pen.

Be ready to spend a whole day there too.

He needs to see if he can go on a Saturday. Every two months or so they open on Saturday and (in my experience a few weeks back) they give you the passport a few hours after you do everything there. Either way, yes, be ready to be sitting down for a couple of hours. Make sure you take two copies of each original document, and make sure the photographs are the right size, which (at least where I went) is NOT like the US passport.

Take something to entertain yourself with.

They ask you 'nicely' to turn off your cell phones. He can get entertained by taking care of the 20 kids other people have, you know, since it's not their but OUR duty to do so.

And be prepared to be treated like you're stupid, or maybe it was just me my spanish sucks and they were soooo rude!!

Saturday appts are a pain in the @$$!!! trust me. when i got mine the only appt i could get was a saturday. i had an appt for 11am and didnt even get seen till like 5pm and then little after 7pm, i FINALLY got my passport.

also, i took passport photos at walgreens, regular standard size, and they were accepted.
