Yea they decide. You ask for such time, but ultimaly they decide. I think you need to do more research before you leave, bc if u dont follow process you will be unadmissable. Btw please take a pic of approval and post it here. Just blk out personal data. Plz

Gotcha. Im want to apply for it but want to wait to see whats up with CIR. Also i want to wait for USCiS to update the policy on AP for dreamers. I want to see my gma in Mexico. Afraid of two things denied entry and if later on when i apply for a green card that it may have some effect

Are you EWI or Visa Overstay? Because it would only affect you if you were visa overstay.

Also, they updated the Policy last week if you haven't seen it yet.

The update is almost not noticeable, but you can find it under the Instructions for I-131 Travel Document
here are the changes.

Quote:
WARNING: The document does not entitle you to be paroled into the United States; a separate discretionary decision on a request for parole will be made when you arrive at a port-of-entry upon your return.
WARNING: DHS may revoke or terminate your Advance Parole Document at any time, including while you are outside the United States, in which event you may be unable to return to the United States unless you have a valid visa or other document that permits you to travel to the United States and seek admission.
And....

Quote:
(4) USCIS or U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deferred action in your case as a childhood arrival based on the guidelines described in the Secretary of Homeland Security's memorandum issued on June 15, 2012 (“Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA)). USCIS may, in its discretion, grant advance parole if you are traveling outside the United States for educational purposes, employment purposes, or humanitarian purposes.
(a) Educational purposes include, but are not limited to, semester abroad programs or academic research; (b) Employment purposes include, but are not limited to, overseas assignments, interviews, conferences,
training, or meetings with clients; and
(c) Humanitarian purposes include, but are not limited to, travel to obtain medical treatment, attend funeral
services for a family member, or visit an ailing relative. Check Item Number 1.d. in Part 2. of the form.
Travel for vacation is not a valid purpose. You must NOT file Form I-131 with your deferred action request or your package will be rejected and returned to you.

I filed forAP and got the approval on July 1st.
I am going to travel to South Korea to visit my grandmother before she passes away and planning on returning before school starts in fall.

My question is, is it okay for me to go to South Korea before the documents arrive in mail? (going to Korea without the documents).

Are the documents required when I am leaving U.S?

Then have my family mail the documents to Korea while I am there, so I can have it with me when I return to U.S.?

I have been waiting for it to come by mail for 9 days, but I have to be in Korea real soon, so I have no time to wait.

Thank you in advance!
When did you apply for it? Just wondering how long it took.
