How to verify social?

Hey guys do any of you know how to verify your social security and if so what are the steps?

in terms of what background agency a company uses. you would have to call that agency and ask them what they need in order for you to show up in their system.

different background companies will require different things. also remember that your social is new (if you havent had one already) so it's going to take some time for your info to show up.

in regards to E-verify, you can go to the USCIS website and look on the right hand side of the page, there will be a link for E-verify and you can do it yourself.

Thanks I have already tried E-verify, but it gives me nothing, I input all my information, and when it comes to taking the quiz it gives me an error page kids thing where it tells me why they couldn't generat questions so on and so on. Do you know anything about that?

A background check was conducted by this company that I applied for and while no criminal records were found, they couldn't verify my SSN... my SSN was issued in February 2013 and I got a CA ID with it so it doesn't make sense that my SSN cannot be verified... right?

I requested information from the firm hired to conduct the background investigation as well as the prospective employer... I tried the online self-check on the USCIS website and it didn't work. What are other ways to verify my own SSN? As for E-verify, it seems that only employers are allowed to register and use it?

Should I just contact the SS office and see what's up? This is so frustrating... At this point, it might be too late for the employer/investigation firm to conduct another check... ;(

what about going to the SSA office and asking for a verification letter stating that your SSN is valid? that way, you can present it to potential employer who are having a hard time trying to verify your SSN.

just a thought.
