+1. That was disappointing stuff from the President. I think he needs to stay away and let the justice system do their work. His work is to advocate and enforce the laws, something that he needs to work on when it comes to Immigration Reform.

Interesting comment! So now you want Obama to speak up about Immigration Reform because it applies to you (a non-citizen), but he should ''stay out'' of the killing of a 17 year old US Citizen? I guess using your logic he should let Congress do their work when it comes to Immigration Reform then right? Obama needed to intervene in the Martin shooting so that the plight of the family could be made more public. He needed to say something and he did the right thing as a leader.

No matter what you think, he will never sway major court decisions by making small comments clearly evidenced by this Zimmerman verdict. Was it wrong that he followed Trayvon? Yes. Was it illegal? No. Who was the aggressor? We really don't know. Did Zimmerman fear for his life? Well some evidence points to 'yes' and some points to a 'no'.

A 5'7 185 lbs. guy with asthma vs. a 5'11 teenager in his prime. There's a mountain of reasonable doubt in this case, that's why I believe the verdict to be justifiable.

On a side note: I'm annoyed at how this is viewed as a race issue.

Why are users that agree with the verdict are called racists?? and if theyre not called that directly there are def some comments indirectly labeling them as racists... i agree with the verdict.. i most def dont judge a person by their race.. but facts are facts...
and all the people tweeting and complaining how the system failed and that zimmerman should be dead are completely ignorant and uneducated.. and so it happens that most of those people are african american... theyre giving themselves a bad name... if some of them were to carry out what they said.. they would be following their stereotype.

Ok the way I see it is that a 17 year old child lost his life on his way to get skittles for his younger brother. He didnt need to die; he wasnt doing anything bad. In all honesty, if some wanna be cop douchebag followed me around harassing me I would probably stomp his ass to the ground too. If that Zimmerman guy cant take an ass whooping from a 17 year then he is a straight up pussy.

Why shouldn't it be viewed as a race issue? Trayvon was followed because he was black and for no other reason. U would have a hard time convincing me that if Trayvon Martin was a 17 year old white guy walking home he wouldn't of made it all the way home that night.

I understand the implications of this case. Trayvon is dead so he doesn't have a side of the story for himself, so we have to take Zimmerman's words at face value. The prosecutor couldn't prove without a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman instigated the incident, but i think anyone with common sense could see that he was not fully "innocent" in all this even though he was found "not guilty."

Neither person were doing anything bad, until one decided to assault the other. So what you're saying is, take the assault if you're a real man, don't defend yourself.
