Getting married (To a U.S. Citizen) is the only option. I'm working on that, but it's not happening as of this moment.

I am loving it. I think this is all fair. Now, I really think that House will pass CIR later this month.

Maybe not. How did you enter this country? If you entered on an immigrant visa, then you could still get a green card. Even if you didn't, there must be a way to recover your status. You said "my parents didn't pick up my green card". Were you approved for I-485? Couldn't you just apply for a replacement?

I'm not really following how anyone approved for a green card couldn't obtain another one. Even though green cards have expiration dates it doesn't mean you're out-of-status, you're still a permanent resident, you just need to renew... I'm sorry if I don't understand

Good lord but your parents suck. Sorry, just had to say it. Being undocumented is hell I wouldn't wish on anyone and they let their own son or daughter suffer?

I have heard about situations like this. It's dependent on age of the child at the time of the adjustment. Parents have to be on point with their paperwork to make sure their children aren't screwed over when it comes to permanent residency.

Economical hardship? Just throwing ideas out, not sure if there's anything there.

Hmm what did they do? Put those cock suckers in a nursing home and don't ever visit them when they get old

Once they got permanent residency I also had an immediate derivative immigrant visa available for a year. However a temporary visa was used to get me here EVEN THOUGH the immigrant visa for a green card was still available. That's what I meant by not picked up.

I don't want to go into details, but there was a benefit to this but only for them. U.S. citizen can still fix the status of their unmarried under 21 children. That was not done either. And now I'm too old for that. I am no longer considered an immediate relative.

So even if I did get petitioned by a USC parent now I'd have a 7 year wait for an immigrant visa and another 10 year wait outside the US due to unlawful presence bar.

Awesome

If I end up fixing my status myself (be it marriage or immigration reform) then I will forget them entirely. They won't know my address or phone. I have no need in my life for someone like that.

Reading the news section makes me feel like I'm in a worse version of Groundhog Day. I could have sworn I saw the exact same thread title 3 months ago.

Yeah they have been close to releasing it. Sometimes even "a week away" for half a year now. If not more.

Wow, I don't blame you. I wish you much success and I hope you have a strong support system outside of your family. They don't deserve you.
