If you are Asian you know your parents are going to be living with you. The trick is when you do buy a house make sure it is a two story house. and parents stay on the lower floor and you and your honey on the second floor and they can't hear you when you do the dirty deed lol.

Yes I bumped this old a** thread up! But yes I'm 21, I still do and its very aggravating because I live in one of those revolving door households where people keep coming in and out. I live in a 3 bedroom but its small! I have to go in the car to talk on on the phone because thats the extent i have to go thru for privacy!!!!

No I moved out of state at 18, I find it that mom does not equal the best fit for roommate , but now that i have her a little far away, when we see each other its like we are best friends. It is kinda lame I only see her 2 X a year, once in the summer and once on xmas.

27, still living with my pops...he isn't going anywhere if I have anything to say about it.

Rent is too expensive, and we aren't exactly privileged enough to live separately and pay 2 separate rent fees and separate bills.

He is old, doesn't have any family left that care about him (except me, but some rare family members sometime call him once in a blue moon).

I cannot leave him alone, not happening...he took care of me for this long and was able to provide me this opportunity...I would probably be in some shit gutter somewhere without him.

I love him too much, and will take care of him til the end.

There are some complications getting with the ladies, but I had some success just convincing them to hang out at their house or elsewhere...although I am single again...but its all good...life goes on...hopefully my true love is out there somewhere.

In the meantime, I play video games, watch movies, listen to music, read books, browse the internet, go outside once in awhile, etc. and enjoy life as best as I can...plus my dad is kinda cuckoo...so it adds to the craziness of my life...lol......

In my old country, we lived in a very large house where I had my own room, a big yard, and even a swimming pool (though we were too stupid to figure out it needed a filtration system and so we eventually just covered it up.)

My first year in the 6th grade in the US was in a nice tract home in a small two story, 3 bedroom suburban town with a relative and his GF. They were downstairs, my sister and mother and myself were upstairs and I had my own room. Not bad at all though we had no money. I even had a bike and owned the town.

After that we moved to the midwest and stayed with a relative in a much smaller 2 bedroom house. It sucked balls. My mother, little sister, and I shared the room. My relative would be a work during the day so we had the house to ourselves until around 5 PM but the rest of the time, we were in the room with many rules like no guests, ever.

2 years later, back in Texas where we shared a 2 bedroom apartment with the original relative who had now gotten married to a woman from "back home" - ironically they had their wedding in our house. The 3 of us shared the same room but the apartment was nicer so it was an upgrade from the other house. Then we had a dispute and my mom was able to find work cleaning houses and such and we got our first place - a one bedroom apartment. It was pretty awesome. A whole apartment for us. King of the castle...then the two relatives started threatening to turn us in to INS and forced us to move back to the midwest...I have never been as sad as I was leaving that apartment.

In the mid-90's another sibling, now and adult made it to the US (legally) and the 4 of us lived in a one bedroom apartment and later a 2 bedroom. He got his own room and the 3 of us slept in the same room, but being that it was OUR apartment, I mostly only slept in that room and spent the rest of the time in other parts of the house - or working 80 hours a week. I was around 20-22 at the time. I was just happy to have a place that was ours. Not being able to be with a girl was not on my radar yet since I was just then starting to go out on little innocent dates.

After that, my brother being older got his own place (dude had to get laid I suppose), but for the next 8 years, it was my mother, sister, and I in the same place where my brother and I paid for it. By then, it WAS getting annoying to pay for the place and not have any privacy...so after college was done and I could afford to pay for two places, I got my own apartment 7 years ago...

King of the castle once again. I can't save money now days as much but it's nice to have my own place.
