Hey. I am sorry to make a new thread and if it needs to be moved and or deleted please do so MOD's.

I was wondering what the process the SSA office goes through to verify EAD's? I was worried that the process would be as long as the I821-D/ I765 process took.

Any help or insight would be great. Thanks in advance.

Well they have to check that your EAD is legit with immigration before they could issue ssn. Sometimes they can do it electronically and your ssn card arrives in a week but for some they have to be verified manually and can take a month to get card.

No, you won't need to wait 10 months.

Every place is different, some got it really quick (two days) and some got it really slow. Average time it seems to be 2-3 weeks. I waited 5 weeks.

So basically they are just looking into the authenticity of the EAD that is provided to them ?

They just have to verify your EAD information with DHS.

Is there any reason why someone would be denied a SS after they've been approved for EAD and I821D??
