I live in nyc, can i go to a nj ssa office to get my card?
(Gf has a ssa office 2 blocks away from her house)

Yes. Any office. Hell, you can even go to alabama.

Already got it! I just renewed it. I had a CA DL before...So all I had to do was to take an 18 questions exam (which I got 100% on it hehe) and I already have my interim license

Ok... I Received my EAD in the mail yesterday.... Went to SSO this morning taking a chance to see if I would be able to get a number..... The lady said I had to wait until my EAD was verified... She still took all my info and gave me a receipt.... She said she would check every day for me to see when it would be verified.... I'm planning on going Friday the 2nd to the office to check on it and hopefully get a print out then head over to the DMV for ID and Written test..... Hoping it's not another struggle to get to the DL point.... Waited 10+ months for an approval..... I'm in Cali.... Took 30 minutes for SSN process..... Not sure if it's everywhere in Cali but this office closes @12 on Wednesdays..... Jyst sharing my experience.....

Does anyone know what process the SSA takes to verify the EAD?

i don't think its real time hence the wait before you receive a number. They submit a copy to DHS and then they say you're clear to receive a number.

I am really worried.

I went in to the SSA office today and applied for a SS. The lady God bless her was so nice and did what she could to help. I do not have a valid ID or Passport all I have is my EAD and birth certificate. She said that I was not in the system yet or something because I was approved on the 19th (last friday). She gave me a letter saying that I should receive a letter f approval or denial in the mail 4 weeks from now after they verify with DHS.

Is there any reason DHS would deny me after they've approved me for Daca and an EAD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
