People do change..and a lady changed me..

There she was, walking w one of my affiliated associates(friend)
I lijed her ,I thouhgt she was beautiful, but she wouldnt be interested in talking me,and even if she did, what woukd we talk about, about how a car was chasing us ,the day bfre, and how we jumped out of the car,to fight with them.

Or how ,we got sneaked into the gym changing room,
To confront one our rivals that was bad mouthing us,according to one of my friends that had gym w him.
And made raccon (associate of mine)fight the guy bad mouthing us. which by the way was his friend..but just to prove loyalty to us..
She would think I was a monster..

I didnt bother talking to her..
Until we saw that there was a type of concert on the auditorium..
Racoon and me where walking around looking for some rivals that had cornered a friend name spooky ,and told him to warn us ,of what was coming to me..soon

So we got curious and since we had to stay low,and not get caught by securitys,we went in the auditorium we sat..and found another one of our associates,,we started to planned how to hit the guys, who had been telling everybody around us.of what was coming to us soon...

Than I heard a soft voice behind me ...
""Hey your chucky right (my nickname)"'?
Im lije yes, whats up...(there she was again..)
Shes like would you like to buy some chocolates bars
They re for some fundraising,we are doing for a class ,IM like sure
But ill pay ya later..(really had no intentions of paying)
She like ok..

I tell her but ,I ll need 3 because my friends here ,are going to want one also..
She changed the tone ,and said ok..(in a very dissapointed matter)
The bell rang.and we waljed out, laughing of how we scored 3 chocolates for free...

Lil that I knew, that these girl would followed me around ,aski g for her chocolate bars money..
I guess after she asked me like 10 times for the $ she realized.I wasnt paying her..
In tge course of her asking me for her money,I made conversation to her,and we had become friends,,
I asked her if she was going to tge valentines dance, she answered yes,w my friend..I was line cool ,I ll see ya there..
That day came and I was lloking forward to that day..
We talked and dance for a lil bit...
After that she had to go ,her dad was picking her up..
I continued dtinking,after the dance,
I guess the liqour gave me tge courage and I called her ,she had given me her #.and I asked her if she wanted to be my "kick'
Not official grilfriend.....she said yes ...I
Was so happy...and confused ,
I was always thinking about her, wanting to be w her..
We always had to meet up ,w the crew at the first floor of the school ,after each class,,
To discuss ,if anything was happening and to show presence of our crew,
But I found my self walking w her to her classes, and than running to the hang out apot.and not making it on time...
My associates realized this and confronted me..

By the way her name is Adriana .she filled her daca and was approved in a 2 month gap...

I grew up in Chicago too (southside Pilsen neighborhood) during the time where it was notorious (it is gentrified now, so you see hipsters instead of gangbangers) during my elementary school years. In high school, we moved to the Midway area (in where it is getting a bit more sketchy because of gentrification from poorer neighborhoods, and all the gangbangers battling for turf here).

I understand many of us growing up in these neighborhoods would catch up to as into trouble, and to some, slowly and automatically merge with the lifestyle. Our parents working long hours and disconnected to the urban culture we grew up became main factor why so many of us entered the gang lifestyle. But on the other hand, many of us dispatched ourselves from that lifestyle.

Seems from your personal story, who didn't have a positive figure to look up to and influence you away from the negativity of growing up in the hood. Many had disciplinary authorities such as active parents/family, church, school, or other positive figures to look up to.

When I was growing up in Pilsen, a lot of my friends were gangmembers, and saw all the drama that came with that. Also, there were a lot of community organizations that helped young kids like me at the time to stay away from that by offering after school gathering in where we will interact with other kids from the neighborhood in a lot of activities that kept us away from the streets because they understood most of our parents couldnt be active in our lives because of work.
