our passports don't have to do anything with the U.S. government so just go to your country's embassy or call them and ask for their requirements, it's usually your birth certificate and pay some money but it takes a little while to get one.

If you are undocumented dont even try to leave the united states even if you want to go to puerto rico, because you can get into trouble with ice and be deported.

yeah, they check your status sometimes when you go to puerto rico even though it's part of the United States and you only need a license to go there. A friend went there and he told me they were checking it at the airport, I don't want to get you scared or anything but just keep that in mind.

In order to travel to Puerto Rico, people in the United States only need a license but for some reason they randomly check your status sometimes when you go to Puerto Rico, in other words you put yourself at risk of a federal official at the airport asking you for proof of permanent residence. It may or may not happen, why they do that? I don't know. Just make sure you look for more information before going on that trip.
