Try applying for chevron. I know 3 people who did and it worked for them. I am going to try it once I get my SS card.

No I went to update my info at the bank as soon as I got ssn and the banker assisting me submitted the application. I didnt go through and a week later he tried again then told me I needed to be a permanent resident after I told him I wasn't.

Should have gone to another banker or branch.

Presumably any big branch banks will accept you.

Wells Fargo and Bank of America accepted my SSN with open arms. I have had an account with Wells Fargo with my ITIN on it for a couple years, but most recently updated my to SSN once I was approved for DACA.

I have a checking and savings account with both banks, and I consistently deposit cash in it. They need to see a flow of transactions and an acceptable amount of money in your accounts usually before they approve you for a credit card. Good luck, fellow DREAMer!

At the moment I was not in a rush of getting a card so I let it go.

Thanks for telling us this. I've been using BoA since '09. I'm going today to update my address but also ask about the credit card. I'll tell you guys how it goes

I went to the nearest Bank of America and was approved for Bank of America Cash Rewards Credit Card for $500 Limit. I have NO credit card history. This card: https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit...credit-card.go

This is how it went. I originally went to go get my information on my checking/savings account changed (add SS#, change of address, etc). I think I was really really lucky because the bank employee that was helping me was a nice hispanic lady who had some general knowledge about DACA. Before I even asked her about credit cards she tells me "Let me help you get started on building some credit" Everything was done on her computer and I was approved in a second. I was worried because I had no credit history and I have been working in job where I get cash.

Wow and I got my savings account closed because I never used it. They didn't even warn me but rather was doing an online transaction and realized that I didn't have a savings any more.

Yup they will do that to you. If you don't have Any money they won't touch you. I'm calling the cc department Monday and give them a piece of my mind. I will become a pr in 3 years and that's to long to wait to start building credit. I wonder how people here did it with DACA status.
