You need to transfer your earning at the SSA not the IRS. The IRS just handles tax stuf from what i know. I went a few weeks ago to transfer my 9 years of earnings to the SSA and today i got a notice reflecting all earnings being transferred to my social. It was pretty fast, they did it in less than a month.

Does anybody know if there's a time limit for reporting our past earnings? Or as long as you have your w-2's you can go to the ss office??

Explain how you did this in detail so we can know.

Just take all your old w2s from your previous jobs, (they are usually stapled to your taxes) and head to the SSA and tell them you want to transfer your earnings to your newly issued ssn. Doesnt matter if your w2s list your fake social or itin. As long as they have your name.

They photocopy them and you're out of there. Within a month you get a letter and a breakdown of the years they updated with your new social and bam!! 9 years of hard work put into our socials for our retirements lol.

I kind of want to do this (I already rescinded my ITIN, transferred my credit history, updated my bank/credit/loan accts)

This is like the only thing left. But feel funny about admitting on working with a fake SSN.

I was under the impression that you couldn't transfer social security credits unless the number you used to work was wrong or didn't belong to anyone. If a social is fake, the ssa sends a letter to employers and the taxpayer asking to double check their # and update it in order to receive credit. But if the SS # belonged to someone else, they receive the credit. Claiming the credit under someones ss credits doesn't sound like a piece of cake..

I just did this today it was a piece of cake if you get the right person. I did 10 years. You just fill out a form and you put your new ssn and whatever others you have used in the past . Bring all your w2 with you and they will transfer the credits to the new ssn. They don't ask you any questions of why are you doing this or anything like that. If you get a rep that tells you need your 1040 come on a dif day. All they need is your w2
