I don't think I'm complaining & I didn't mean to say it's ALWAYS about who you know either. I meant to say that I feel like it's more of who you know than other things but not ALWAYS. & it isn't as simple as packing my bags & going, I have a family too. I can't just move because of a job that's probably just trying me out because I'm an 18 year old HS graduate. That makes NO sense. I'll find something, just as I did with American Eagle & make the most of it. By no means did I mean to make this to "complain" or "whine." Simply to see how many of you guys have gotten hired, if you are getting hours, how long you've had the job & so forth.

I agree with you, I wasn't implying or saying you were complaining or whining. I merely said complaining really gets you nowhere. And yeah some just cant pack up their things and skip town to find work, it's not that simple. I really hope you find something that works for you so you can live a close to normal life now. By the way I been working at wal mart for a few weeks now, forgot to mention it.

The immigration law firm with which I applied for Daca had offered me a job as a receptionist/Legal Assistant on the spot but had to wait til I actually got my work permit LOL. They kept their promise and I'm pretty happy. Learning a lot and it feels amazing to help people who are in the same position as me!

-previous pre-daca jobs: selling dresses at a bridal store at a mall
waitress at an Indian restaurant

CVS, I never wished for summer to be over sooner. I got hours (generally over 30, never under 25) but at 7.60 an hour with uncle sam taking 20% of my earnings is total bull.

The second I got DACA I applied for an IT position in my school (BYU). Started at 9.50/hr plus a .50-1.00 raise every semester. The most flexible work schedule I've ever had. I recommend you try your school if you're in one.
