How long does it take for the Selective Service letter to arrive after the DMV signs you up? I ask because my 26th birthday is really soon; Maybe I should have mailed it earlier. Oh well...

What do you mean DMV signs you up? I got the registration form from the United States Postal Service.I filled the registration and sent it first class mail. It took about 4 months to get the letter from them .

Don't wait for anyone to sign you up.

Go to your local USPS office, ask them for the Selective Service sign up form/card (It's an oversized holiday card looking thing if I remember), and then fill out the form, and then mail it in.

I signed up when I had just turned 25, in 4 months I had not received anything, so I thought maybe It got lost or something went wrong I had gotten a little worried, so I filled out another one, and 2 months later, I got a response for both 'em, so you can say I registered twice.. I does take a while, I'd say at least 2 months, but probably less than 6.

Ok cool... So I figure sending a second one from USPS will not get me in trouble just to be on the safe side. The DMV did ask me if I wanted to register in the form and I answered 'Yes' but trusting the employees there with hundreds of applications who don't need the service kind-off worries me. My birthday is in December... So I will send an extra application Tuesday.

Thanks again guys / girls.

Yes, but I used different address on both, and got two separate ones, they think I was two different people maybe? for the previous one I had used my grandma's address, but on the second one I used my own. I got each on the respective address it was pointed to.

Do not send two; you can be registered twice.

I was registered twice and had to call and clear it up so I know for a fact you can be registered twice. If your numbers at the top don't match you're in there twice. Call and get it cleared up.
