I don't see why you would be asked whether you received food stamps or not, and about the marriage certificate, that's more important for the female applicants because their name changes after getting married and they start using a different name, so they need to send proof of that, but a man can also use it to prove continuous residence.

thanks JJ Glo. i know it was weird. i was like why does she care if we recieved food stamps or not?
and yea thats understandable (marriage certificate to prove continuous residency)

yea so i told my husband that maybe we can try to look into other people because they were asking for stuff that wasn;t needed but now that i've read through some of the forums im sure we're on the right track. we got all the documents, everything filled out to a T . so I'm just going to get his transcripts from (PRE-K, elementary, middle, high school, and the 2 years he went to the university) & just send everything in including money order just in case they want more they will send him a letter correct of what else he needs?

Look at the list of the requirements and make sure you have enough evidence to meet each one. USCIS does send out letters if the evidence that was initially sent with the applications does not suffice. It is called a Request for Evidence (RFE). It's better to double check everything and send it right the first time so that you don't waste time later on with an RFE.

You are correct. If they need more info, they should send him an rfe ( request for more info/ evidence) . I say, send the application and hope for the best! He sounds like a good candidate for DACA....Btw, are u a legal resident? Are u a citizen? If you are, he can then adjust his status if he's approved and your family should be set

Young family.

So are you a USC?

if you are, why not petition for him? Oh you mean hes EWI? well there's a waiver so he doesn't have to leave the country anymore. Is his case simple? Hes got a clean record? YAY!

If you are not a USC then disregard the last statement, but seeing as how i know nothing about welfare don't you have to be at least a permanent resident to be able to receive help? actually.. no you don't all you have to have is USC children.

If you're not a USC consider applying for DACA too, unless you're 31+

Yes. we're already getting all the documents ready. and yes I am a US Citizen, born here in California.
So once he gets his Dream Act (hopefully) then I can adjust his status so he can be on his path to citizenship?

were you asking me questions then replying to them yourself? Kind of confused to your post on my thread?
I am a US Citizen, born here in california. he does have a clean record (besides his traffic citations for driving without a license due to his obvious immigration status) and to tell you the truth in California you dont have to be born in the US to actual obtain benefits from welfare. They actually are able to obtain more benefits then someone born here.

JJGLO, you've helped me out so much in this thread that I wanted to ask you another question.
We've gotten the all the documents needed except for ONE!
the one that can prove that he was here on June 15, 2012, he literally did NO transactions that day, took NO pictures, shoot he didn't even update his status on facebook lol. but we did go on a father's day trip to San Francisco and we have a picture of him, our son, and I in front of the Golden Gate Bridge but the bad part is that it isn't time stamped or anything. So this is now literally our only document that we don't have.. what do you suggest? we have other stuff but their mostly pictures or updates from social networks that were done about 2 weeks after the June 15th date. HELP!

You don't have to submit evidence exactly dated on June 15th, 2012. The evidence can be dated shortly before or after that date, maybe like within a week or two. Find the closest dated evidence you have and send that in.

Send in the pictures and write the date on them either by hand or on the computer like I did. Just send anything for the month of June that you have.
