There is a STRIKING similarity to whats going on with CIR and what happened with DA last year. Rubio kept floating ideas for "Dream Act Lite". I remember the pressure was at an all time high at this time when Obama suddenly introduced DACA. Now the pressure is at an all time high for CIR and Republicans have been floating BS like "piecemeal" approaches. Time for DEFERRED ACTION FOR ADULT ARRIVALS!!!!!! FUCK you Congress!

Maybe we should push Dream Act as an standalone bill knowing CIR is dead.

House Republicans have no intention of voting on anything immigration related. Notice, that the KIDS Act hasn't been mentioned for some time which just goes to show they were playing politics.

So pushing DREAM Act at this point would do, what exactly? The obstacles would still be the same: non-existent leadership from the White House and House Republicans that have no interest in doing what is good for this country, good for us or good for their own political livelihood.

Are the Hill strategists suggesting a 2017 passage because of the possibility of unified Democratic control?

2016 will be a tough year for the Republican Senate caucus because vulnerable Republican 2010 cycle winners will be up for re-election including blue states like Illinois, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania in a Presidential year.

2014 could be used by the House Democrats to chip away at the Republican majority in the House. Right now, I think it takes 17 flips to take back the House but if 2014 knocks out 4-8 Republican incumbents, that'll make it easier to take back the House in 2016.

Of course, there's the Presidential race. If Hillary runs and wins, that'll allow for a continued Democratic presence in the White House.

(dont want to jinx it though)
