House should be easy. They already have 180 dems and 40 reps votes.

Tancredo is wrong because if you look at the voting table Ianus posted, people like Giffords, Mitchell and Flake (folks whom have publicly spoken out for reform) voted for his amendment. There's nothing to worry about.

dude, its over. cloture failed, republicans refuse to vote on their own amendments and now they are open to filibustering. by and large its over.

lets hope durbin finds the time and opportunity to attach dream act to something this year. THIS YEAR.

durbin said it right there, it's almost next to impossible to resuscitate a bill after it failed a cloture vote.

i dont agree with u bruinman, last week you thought it was almost next to impossible to bring this bill back

This table. If this amemdment had been brought up in the senate, it would had passed as well.

Tancredo is going to attack some of his fellow republican on immigration, but they don't take him seriously since his pol numbers have
plunged below the margin of error.

Quote:
Targeting fellow Republicans is nothing new for Tancredo. Team America, a political action committee he founded, aggressively targeted Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, in last year's GOP primary. Cannon eventually won re-election.

The committee also tried to influence races in California, Arizona and elsewhere. Cannon spokesman Fred Piccolo said Tancredo's efforts didn't work in 2006.

"If his poll numbers are any indication, then he's not catching fire with the Republican base on an issue that's front and center," Piccolo said.

Tancredo has been polling below the margin of error in polls around the country.

It's an amendment to deny sanctuary cities government funds.

That's so ridiculously impossible, I almost feel compelled to laugh.

New York City is one of the LARGEST sanctuary cities. If the feds cut off money from NYC, the entire city would riot. And let's face it, a riot of angry New Yorkers versus the National Guard...

Gonna be a tough match to call.

I think its for emergency funds though...it's not going to work regardless. Tancredo is a dipshit. Let's say some random earthquake or something shakes up San Francisco; will the feds not give money to the dying people just because it's a sanctuary city? It's not possible.
