It's been 7 years, so she hasn't said anything like before, but sometimes she still makes her irritable little comments.

And I personally know of a person who married multiple times as both USC and green card holder only for money. He always marries illegals, never lives with them. Barely speaks English. Get's asked which street is adjacent to the one where they both supposedly live and other questions that he doesn't answer correctly. And yet all 3 of his marriages have been "successes". At this point he's beyond confident and sees it as his right to marry whomever/however often he chooses. Perhaps it's a bit too bold. But it works for him.

If it's legitimate you go in there expecting approval and you should get it. They also have to weigh the possibility of "This seems fishy, but what if this is truly legitimate?". It tends to work out.

I know when I get married to my gf of many years now, she will petition for me the second we get our marriage license and it doesn't matter what an interviewer speculates why we're applying so early, none of your god damn business, do what you have to do to make sure everything on our part is legit and we will prove it is..

OP, if you have a brain, don't sit there thinking things are gonna go wrong.. If your shits legit.. Go through with it.. Don't waste time.

That's complete bull shit.. What the hell you think this is? Mexico? If the interviewer got beef with your hair they deport you? They have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that your marriage is fraudulent and not only do you get deported but you get jail time.

Anyone who gets deported either had a criminal record or really we're commuting fraud. Don't believe that bull shit it was real and we got deported.. It's like murderers in jail claiming they're innocent.. Come on now..
They can always drag the process, so what was going to be a 6 month ordeal can sometimes take 2 years. Once again, everything is luck, why do you think some people in here are waiting 1 year or more just for their work permit.

Who cares? If it drags to 2 years isn't that better than waiting 5 years to apply?

I don't think she wants to wait 5 years to apply.

She claims they been together for 7 years since she was 16, she could of gotten married and legally applied 5 years ago

At the end of the day, it's her life and choices.

At least she's thinking things through. Honestly, what I've come to realize in the last few days when I've talked to my friends (exasperatingly) about my choices, you need to do shit on your own and in your own terms.

People kept pushing me to get married for a green card. I didn't want to do it so I didn't. Would I have been better off? Yes. But am I comfortable with my choice? YES. Because at the end of the day, they aren't going to deal with the repercussions. Only me.

OP is comfortable now with her choice and that's all that matters.
