No, they word it in a way that's confusing, on purpose.

As I read that, I understand it's not an 'automatic' renewal, which means that it might take as long as when we first applied. Yes, our cases are handled like a TPS, but remember we are still different. I'm not trying to be the 'bad guy' or 'bitter' guy here, just realistic as to what things are, which people don't like to see.

In other words, get married to a citizen!

I second this. My lawyer said that marrying a citizen while on DACA will mean we don't have to leave the country while we wait for our papers (since we are legally present in the US).

Your lawyer is wrong as USCIS themselves said, DACA does not have any negative affect or positive affect on status adjustments.

People with EWI cannot adjust status without filing a complicated waiver. Having DACA would make Advance Parole available, and when they re-enter the country using that document they're no longer EWI.

Didn't something get signed, that even if you are EWI you can still adjust?

The recent change (provisional waiver) is that now you can file it while waiting in USA, instead of waiting in the birth country. You still have to file the hardship waiver, essentially telling them all sorts of sob stories like your dad is gone, your mom is sick with cancer, your wife is paraplegic, and your son is autistic so you have to be there for them. You gotta convince them that your story is real, and still have to go to the consulate abroad for the final interview.

If your EWI is cleared you don't need all this waiver crap, as an immediate relative of a citizen you can adjust right here.
