Yeah, similar question here. I applied 3 days ago and was wondering if the shutdown would hinder them verifying my documents ( EDA card etc..) and increase my waiting time. I'm in NYC and I need an SSN before I even start considering the points for a Non Drivers ID

Important Information About the Federal Government Shutdown

Due to the Federal Government Shutdown, Social Security field offices are open with limited services. Hearings offices remain open to conduct hearings before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). Social Security card centers are closed.

Social Security and Supplemental Security Income payments to beneficiaries will continue with no change in payment dates.

Due to Congressional inaction to prevent the Government shutdown, we will only provide the following services at Social Security field offices:

Help you apply for benefits
Assist you in requesting an appeal
Change your address or direct deposit information
Accept reports of death
Verify or change your citizenship status
Replace a lost or missing Social Security payment
Issue a critical payment
Change a representative payee
Process a change in your living arrangement or income (SSI recipients only)

We cannot provide the following services:

Issue new or replacement Social Security cards
Replace your Medicare card
Issue a proof of income letter
If your visit involves any Social Security-related service not listed above, we regret we are unable to assist you. We regret any inconvenience. Our Online Services will remain open.

Hi guys! I've been reading this forum for a while trying to get a better gauge on processing times but I"m starting to think it's completely random.

This is my timeline
Application rec'd: 3/19 (routed to Nebraska)
Bios: 5/2
RFE: 7/17

I called and submitted a service request because my case was outside normal processing times. This is the response I received yesterday: "Your case is still pending at the Nebraska Service Center and will be adjudicated in the date order that it was recieved".

We all know that is not accurate because we have first hand knowledge of people who are being approved in less than even three months. It's frustrating. It's pretty weird that everyone gets back different responses. It kind of makes me think no one is really checking and some guy in front of a computer just comes up with answers they think might appease people and keep them in the dark about how inefficiently the agency has been processing DACA applications.

Another thing, the RFE I got was to request proof of HS graduation. Even though in my original app I included a copy of my high school transcript clearly marked with my graduation date and all grades completed. I also included my college transcript so I don't know how they think I went to college without graduating from high school. I sent them back another copy of my HS transcript with graduation highlighted plus an official sealed transcript. I'm a little worried the people processing applications are just paper pushers who pay no attention to detail or even know what they are looking at. Let's hope they get it right in the end and we all get approvals before the holidays.

Everyone "outside normal processing times", I join you in epic frustration.
