Hey I'm just going with what I've seen.

Where you a minor when it happened? Chances are they won't see it in a background check. Besides when companies check your criminal history they see arrests. I doubt they care about anything else unless they are a huge company. Good luck.

No this happened after I turned 18... other than that incident I'm clean, never been arrested.

I believe most job applications only require you to report felonies or arrests. I wouldn't worry too much about it and bring it up if asked. Be completely honest and you will be fine.

You'd be surprised what shows up on a background check. I've seen people lie to our face when asked about their past and a background check shows every little thing they've done. If you were young and were caught skinny dipping or drinking, while stupid (especially for an illegal), employers can overlook that, but theft....theft is a liability.

If you send an employee to a customer's house to install the cable and they swipe something, the first questions the home owner's lawyer will ask you is "didn't you do a background check?" If you say no, then you were negligent. If you say yes, and saw that your employee already had a record for theft and you still let them go to people's houses, then you might as well shut down your business. It's a risk most businesses take.

Nice to know. Would have never thought they would be able to see everything little thing. But then again I have never done a background check on someone so I would have no clue what shows up. Thanks for the info.

like I said before theft might show up but employers, will overlook the theft fact, I already gotten jobs not being to work in the united states, I'm not gonna let that affect me its done and they'll take other factors into consideration.
