Here's a word of advice.

No matter what you do. . .

Do. Not. Plead. Guilty. Don't plead guilty. No matter what. It will stay in your record if you do and you will be f---- forever.

Get a lawyer. Fight it out. Try to strike a deal with the DA.

Ask for Community Service. Ask your lawyer to convince the District Attorney to nolle your case.
Ask to settle out of court. Ask to pay a fine. Cry like a baby and Beg the owner / manager of the store and ask them to drop the charges. Offer them $1000 dollars.

Whatever you do. Don't plead guilty!!!! I can't say this enough! There are other alternatives to pleading guilty. Worse comes to Worse: Try to plead No Contest. Check if that'll count as guilty in your jurisdiction. If it does, then don't . Just plead Not Guilty and go for the Trial.

Some misdemeanors are overlooked in the DACA process. Consult an attorney.

Quite frankly by the time this gets into the system you will probably be approved or denied. I really don't think this will impact your application as much you think. It happened after your send your application, and hpefully they already did the biometrics on you with the FBI.

However it's anyone guess. Getting attorney will not help you become approved. It will just help you with your current case. but I do suggest consulting one as they know more about these sorts of stuff than we do. I think at worst if you will be asked for more info about this and they will want to see the final outcome of this before they approve you or denie you. There was one guy here who stole a bike and got caught. This happened while his application was still pending. He never posted back so I am sure he was approved.

This guy was approved, lol. Your charge shouldn't be a problem, but indeed speak to a lawyer, no exceptions.

Just stay out of trouble, is it that difficult? People need to remember that this is a very small group of people and we have to always be on our best behaviors and be model members of our communities.
