yeah no, Notarios are a joke to begin with. Heaven forbid he/she gets one that likes to talk a big game and want to fill out his application. Stay away from notarization. unless they're required. Just make sure you put your friends contact information at the bottom of the affidavit along with his signature.

I sent 3 without it being notarized.

actually i think i will become a notary public. Come @ me.

I came to the US when I was 15 years old, but didn't attend school (it was in the middle of the school year) Also, my mom and I decided to wait for the new school year to start, which was a huuuuuuge mistake. I just stayed home and went to church for 5 months. So I don't have any evidence of me being here before turning 16. The only evidence are some pictures, but I don't know if they will accept them. My former pastor (since I don't really go to that church again) wrote a really good letter stating how I had attended church for years blah blah... but that was not enough and got a RFE, which is understandable. I mean, anybody can write a letter. My future will depend on the pictures I will send them

Oh man D: did he use the church letterhead? I don't advocate notarizing documents because it doesn't make a difference, but I do believe in presentation, ESPECIALLY when its someone important, the letter should look just as important. At the end of the day, you can only send in what you have, and if its not good enough to satisfy their requirements then its not. Honestly, your story doesn't make sense to me, but hopefully whoever's handling your case gets it

Of course, it was a formal letter.

What doesn't make sense? I came here when I was 15 and a half years old, waited for the school year to start, didn't do anything while I waited except stay home and go to church. I don't understand what's so hard to understand.... I only applied because of the pictures I have which were taken before I turned 16 and show I'm in the US.

You not understanding my case actually helps me, that way when I write my "declaration" I will make sure it makes sense. I just need to know what doesn't make sense....

The waiting for the school to start should definitely be elaborated on, since its how most people prove their presence before 16 besides vaccinations or passport stamps. Also, I think they'd want to know the timeline like you arrived in the US in May, turned 16 August, started school in September, so there's no school record, that kind of thing
